The excitement of a new Premier League season is upon us, and with it comes the age-old tradition of making predictions. From the title race to the relegation battle, every club’s journey over the next nine months will be filled with drama, surprises, and moments that will define their season. As we embark on the 2024-25 campaign, I’ve taken a deep dive into the strengths, weaknesses, and summer moves of all 20 teams to predict where each one will finish. Will the usual suspects dominate once again, or could we see a dark horse break into the top four? Let’s dive into my Premier League predictions and see how the season might unfold.
20. Ipswich Town
- This team has won back-to-back promotions, the thought of them winning the Premier League is absurd and the whole season they will be battling relegation.
- Kieran McKenna is a great young manager and he must believe in the Tractor Boys as bigger clubs were trying to take him away, but in the end he stuck with Ipswich which could land him back in the Championship league at the end of it all.
- I have a soft spot in my heart for Ipswich but I think they are fighting above their weight class in this league and will end at the bottom.
19. Southampton
- I hate to pick all the teams that just got promoted into the Premier League as the teams that are heading back down, but, although Southampton has been here before I think they just don’t have enough to stay up.
- They needed a playoff win vs Leeds to get back up and what I think a decade ago was a hostile home environment is not such at the present time.
18. Brentford
- There seems to be talk around Brentford competing for the top half of this league. Well I think that is just ridiculous.
- They have made a couple decent signings with Thiago from Club Bruges and Fabio Carvalho but the talent is to deep in this league and I think all year they will be up and down over that relegation line.
17. Leicester City
- In 2016 we saw this club shock the world at 5000-1 to win the Premier League. This season the bookmakers are not taking any chances listing them at 1500-1.
- In any case I do not think they should be worried. The Foxes are going to struggle a bit with the now 37-year old Jamie Vardy still being the face of the club.
- Although they struggle, I do think their familiarity with the league and their fans keep them up, if not, we might be in for another boring Championship season next year.
16. Bournemouth
- A lot of these teams in this mid to bottom part of the table think they have a chance at the top ten. This is not a team that will be closer to relegation than top ten.
- They have lost their top goal scorer from last season.
- On a personal note I rarely will bet for or against this team, this is one of three teams that I just can’t figure out. I do know they will not win the league.
15. Wolverhampton
- The team with the best logo in the Premier League.
- One of the most exciting teams to watch in the league with their attacking style.
- This looks like a stronger team than last season, I do think they struggle on keeping the ball out of their own net and that keeps them from a top ten finish.
14. Fulham
- I like them to finish exactly where they finished last season.
- Again, another team that have lost some key pieces to their midfield and defense but they did pick up some replacements such as Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal.
- What was once the oldest team in the league has got a little bit younger. I am afraid though with youth does not always bring skill.
13. Nottingham Forest
- This is a team that I did not think last season would be able to stay up especially with thier points deduction. They found a way and were just above the line by 6 points over Luton Town.
- I think this season without the points deduction a fresh start and bright outlook will be seen within the club putting them closer to the top of the table than the bottom.
12. Crystal Palace
- This is the second team that I rarely bet on. They can one day look the best in the league and then the next lose 5-0.
- They have only finished top of table four times in their history and three of those were at exactly 10th position. If your looking for a team that is consistently mediocre you have found them.
11. Brighton
- If you are looking up disappointing teams from last season based on their expectations I think you will find a picture of Brighton. Most “experts” had them finishing Top 5 but in the end they could not break into the top of the table.
- I do think that this is a talented team and it will be interesting to see what new manager Fabian Hurzeler will do after leading St. Pauli into the Bundesliga.
10. Everton
- Without an 8 point deduction last season Everton would have been nearly cracking a top ten finish. They really came on strong in the last stretch of the year where they picked up points in 4 of their last 5 matches.
- They have Jordan Pickford at goalie so looking at goals given up this season might be their ticket to competing near the top.
- The one achilles heal that this team has is the health of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He needs to stay healthy or this is going to be another long season for Everton.
9. West Ham
- The team has a new manager in Julen Lopetegui who is fresh off a UEFA Europa Conference League win.
- I think this team is going to be one that could either finish 6th or 17th. I have put them in the top ten at the moment but if there is struggle of the start it might be an uphill climb needed.
8. Newcastle
- This is the third and final team that I rarely bet. Our friend over at OUFC Fan View told us a few years ago that this team had money. Well in America teams that have money win. I am not saying the 2022-23 4th place finish wasnt great, but, how did you go from that to 7th and out of European competition.
- I personally think that the 4th place finish a couple years back was a fluke. I do not see this team being in the Top 6.
7. Manchester United
- Take this prediction with a grain of salt. Now, I know this team might be better than 5th but my sisters boyfriend is a Man United fan so leaving them out of the Top 6 might be a little bias here.
- Erik ten Hag is still the Manager after winning the FA Cup last season, does he finish the year with the team? If they get off to a bad start, lets say a loss to Fulham today, than he might be right back on the hot seat.
- If your not a Manchester United fan jump on the bandwagon to root against them. Ha!
6. Aston Villa
- In my opinion this team did exactly what Newcastle did a couple years back securing a top four finish. Many think they have broke through that glass ceiling but I am going to be hesitant and think that Newcastle was set up better than they were and fell back so why not Aston Villa.
- Those thinking I am insane might point to the fact that they have a top-class manager and a developing squad, and acquiring Ian Maatsen from Chelsea will fill a hole in that back line.
- I just don’t think that will be enough and they allow to many goals to put them into the top four.
5. Chelsea
- This is my team! I am 100% bias in this prediction as I have watched the team and I know they are most likely not this good. I do think there is some good talent on this squad but having talent on paper and executing on the pitch are two different things.
- If we sit in the top six come March, I think it will be interesting to see if we make a push for the Champions League Qualification or if were just content with any European football.
4. Liverpool
- Jurgen Klopp is gone and honestly that made me want to put this team mid-table. With Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold its hard to put them lower than top four.
- Arne Slot must win early and often or the narrative around him is not going to be good after all the great years with Klopp.
3. Arsenal
- Is this the year the Gunners break through? No.
- Will they give the top two teams a run for the title. Yes.
- The difference? Winning the big matches. It seems like every season when the top matches come up on their schedule they always falter a week prior and/or in the week of the big game leaving much to be desired in the terms of optimism.
2. Manchester City
- I cannot for the love of football put this team #1. I am so sick of this team winning each and every year for the most part. They are the Tom Brady Patriots of the early 2000’s. They are the Yankees of the early 2000’s. They are the Montreal Canadians of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
- I have nothing to say about this team other than Haaland looks like he was made in a Marvel lab.
1. Tottenham
- Everyone is going to think this is crazy, but, you would have said the same thing in 2016 when Leicester City won the league.
- The first thing that needs to happen for this to become a reality is they need to go through the whole season with no injuries. Especially Son Heung-min.
- The second thing that needs to happen is for them to pick up 18 points from matches against Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool & Man United.
- Lastly, they have to put the ball in the back of the net.
- You do all three of those things you have won the premier league.
So there you have it, my Premier League predictions.
As the 2024-25 Premier League season kicks off today, the race to the top and the battle to avoid relegation will be more intense than ever. Will there be surprises? Absolutely. Will there be heartbreak? Without a doubt. Let’s enjoy the season and let it be known I would give up my child just to see Manchester City not win. Kidding, I would give up my wife.
Day #15 Recap
$200 ➡️ $200K Challenge Bet: CJ Abrams Over 1.5 HRR
- I feel like in the past week every day the MLB player we take for a bet gets hit by a pitch. Now this bet wasn’t going to win unless in that at bat he got a hit and scored…but give us a chance.
- He ended 0-3 with a HBP.
Servette vs Braga Over 2.5
- The idea on this bet was that Braga was the better team and was going to score multiple goals and Servette being the home team was going to put one in as well.
- We had to sweat it till the 91′ but that is exactly what happened for a great winner.
Pafos FC vs CSKA 1948 Sofia Over 3
- The last two soccer bets that we had were extremely disappointing losses starting with this one.
- Sofia took a red card in the 47′ in the first half with the game 0-0 and even at that scoreline at halftime you though we could see three goals at least in the 2nd half.
- Well Paphos scored in the 97′ minute to tie it up on the aggregate and push it into extra time. Thats is where they decided they wanted to score 3 goals. Really, you just couldn’t do that in the first 90.
Hajduk Split vs MFK Ruzomberok Over 2.5
- Of course we bet on the upset of the day. Split was heavily favored in this match and they gave up an own goal in the 7th minute. With being down 1-0 early we thought this would win easily given that Split most likely would win the match.
- Despite 21 goal attempts and 7 SOG Split could never put the ball in the back of the net and we lost our bet while Spilt was knocked out of qualification.
Parlay of the Day: 2+ RBI’s
- J.D Martinez: 1-4, 0 RBI’s
- Randy Arozarena: 0-3, 0 RBI’s
- Teoscar Hernandez: 1-4, 0 RBI’s
Day #15 Profit/Loss: -$27.98
What I Learned:
Washington Nationals Rebuild: It seems like it was just yesterday that the Washington Nationals won a World Series in 2019. In reality it was 5 years ago and since then and the departure of Bryce Harper this team has been in a rebuild mode. CJ Abrams was a guy that I thought would kick start this offense at the leadoff spot. However, he is batting just .195 in August and 3-14 in his last 5 games. I think I am going to put this team on do not bet list the rest of the season.
