The long wait is finally over—college football is back! Well, college football was actually back lsat weekend but in a much smaller sense.

College Football Week 1 kicks off with a HUGE full slate of exciting matchups, offering fans a taste of the intense rivalries, high-stakes showdowns, and breakout performances that define the season. From powerhouse programs looking to make an early statement to under-the-radar teams eager to prove themselves on the national stage, there’s no shortage of must-watch games. Whether you’re tuning in for the potential upsets or the star-studded lineups, these are the games you won’t want to miss in Week 1.

Thursday, August 28th

8:00pm: North Carolina vs Minnesota

  • This has intriguing matchup written all over it for College Football Week 1. The Tar Heels of North Carolina will take the field for the first time post-Drake Maye and Minnesota is going to rely on their New Hampshire transfer Max Brosmer to hopefully kickstart what has been a stagnant offense the last few years.

Friday, August 30th

10:30pm TCU vs Stanford

  • TCU if you can remember made the National Championship game two years ago. It has been a steep hill down for them since. They failed to even make a bowl game last year after a ton or roster movement. Stanford on the other hand has not been great as of late and under Troy Taylor they now enter the ACC. I hate to tell them this but it’s only going to get worse for them in that conference which will lead me to believe they will have. a lengthy rebuild.

Saturday, August 31st

12:00pm #14 Clemson vs #1 Georgia

  • I mean what is going on with the schedule makers. This game if you put it at the end of October might be the game of the year. Instead we get to see these two powerhouses iron out any rust here in College Football Week 1. Defense has been the backbone of the Bulldogs team for quite some time and in the early going with rust on QB’s arms I think that we will see a very low scoring and defensive battle throughout most of this one. Even with a loss both of these teams can still make the playoff which honestly is probably why they put this game in Week 1.

3:30pm #19 Miami vs Florida

  • If you read my blog about the College Football Playoffs you know that I am very high on what this Hurricanes team can do this year. Also, with FSU losing to Georgia Tech in Ireland last week they should already look to steal a spot in the ACC. Florida has just an absolutely brutal schedule, the hardest in all of the NCAA and in Week 1 it pins them up against their most hated rival. I am not a fan of these huge rivalries in College Football Week 1 but this is a must watch game.

7:30pm #7 Notre Dame vs #20 Texas A&M

  • I am biased being the largest Notre Dame fan in the world, well maybe tied with my buddy Russ. Any game this season that College Gameday is going to travel to must be on your list of games to watch. The Aggies have the best defensive line in college football and they will be going up against an young Irish offensive line. The difference maker in this one is if Notre Dame incoming transfer Riley Leonard can be the QB that we all need him to be in big games.

Sunday, September 1st

7:30pm #23 USC vs #13 LSU

  • USC will now enter the Big 10 this season and although they do not have the likes of Caleb Williams they still have a very dynamic passing attack. Brian Kelly on the other hand has now lost his first two openers as head coach at LSU. I was a Kelly fan when he was at Notre Dame but I do think if he loses this one he will be on the hot seat for sure. USC and LSU have some potent offenses and less emphasis on being great at defense so this game should give us a nice high scoring affair and closure to College Football Week 1.

College Football Week 1 has SO many games this Saturday. Here is a list of all of them – College Football Week 1 Schedule

Day #28 of Sportsbetting

Today’s Starting Bankroll: $1,944.44

Bet Size: $19.44

(Yesterday’s Bets) 👇

That is back-to-back sweeps of my best bets! We have now skyrocketed over $1,900 and would love to close out the last three day’s and to nearly hit 2k.

$200 ➡️ $200K Challenge Bet: Jose Ramirez Over 2.5 HRR

Fleetwood Town vs Rotherham Over 2.5

  • Despite Fleetwood winning just 2-1, this was an easy winner as all three goals were scored in this match in the first 29 minutes. Rotherham jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the 2′ but then Fleetwood scored in the 16′ and 29′ to advance in the EFL Cup.

Vallencano vs Barcelona Over 2.5

  • With Vallencano scoring in the 9′ and leading 1-0 at halftime I thought this was in the bag. Barca is one of the best teams in the world and they were going to score two for sure in the second half. They picked up a goal in the 60′ from Pedri and then despite having a Lewandowski goal disallowed for a foul Olmo netted one in the 82′ for a 2-1 win.

Otto Virtanen ML

  • This was my first ever tennis bet and it took play in the US Open. I look at tennis matchups here and there as I am a former college tennis player so I do have a lot of interest in the sport. Both these players went through the US Open Qualification to get to this point but Virtanen did it much easier losing less sets. Seeing him at even odds I could not help but feel he was the better player. He came out and won the first two sets and narrowly dropping the third in a tiebreaker. He went on to easily win 6-2 and moving on to the next round of the US Open.

Parlay of the Day: 2+ RBI Milestone

  • Ernie Clement: 0-3, 0 RBI’s
  • Bryce Harper: 2-4, 0 RBI’s
  • Spencer Steer: 1-2, 1 RBI

Day #27 Profit/Loss: +$44.90

What I Learned:

Bet Live in Tennis: Watching a little US Open and paying attention to the lines live have shown me that you can find some big favorites at some great odds if you wait and be patient. I.e. If someone who is a -300 favorite loses the first set of a match they might be more towards -125 to win the match. Looking for these spots can allow you to not only profit but also get better value on high juiced players.
