In terms of looks I would argue that they appearance of the Draftkings Sportsbook is as good if not better than how bet365 looks on the mobile app.

The app’s responsiveness is impressive, with quick load times and smooth transitions between different sections. The variety of bets that one can make on the Draftkings sportsbook is far greater than any other sportsbook that I have found in the Ohio market. If you are looking on X (Formally Twitter) and you see sports bettors with some crazy prop bets, they are most likely using the Draftkings sportsbook app.

Whether you prefer pre-game bets or live betting, DraftKings has you covered with competitive odds that are frequently updated to reflect the latest developments.
Live Betting and Streaming
Live betting is a significant strength of the DraftKings app, however, I do think there are some downsides to what they have in terms of live betting speed and precision.
Although the in-play section is easy to access, with a wide range of sports available for live betting when placing a live bet on Draftkings the speed that you are able to lock your bet in is by far the worst I have seen within all sportsbooks. It seems like the sportbook is activity trying to hold your bet while the AI decides if it is to much risk for the sportsbook.
In terms of streaming games through the app, DraftKings doesn’t offer as extensive a live streaming service as some competitors, it still provides streaming for select events. The streams are of high quality, with minimal lag, ensuring that you can watch and bet on games without missing a beat. For those events not available for streaming, the app offers live scoreboards and detailed game stats to keep you informed.
Features and Tools
DraftKings is packed with features that enhance the overall betting experience:
- Same Game Parlay: This feature allows you to combine multiple bets from the same game into a single parlay, increasing the potential payout while adding excitement to your betting strategy.
- Cash Out: The cash-out option gives you the flexibility to settle your bet before the event concludes, locking in profits or minimizing losses based on the current situation. I will say that the cash out options on Draftkings is not as good as bet365. When I say options I mean that they will hold your bet without allowing you to actually cashout even if there is no reason to.
- Odds Boosts: DraftKings frequently offers odds boosts on select events, providing enhanced odds for specific bets, giving you a chance to increase your winnings. This is something that Draftkings probably does better than anyone else. Each day they will give you boosts for different leagues and or parlays. As a recreational bettor this is a great way to lose money. Look for that blog later this week!
- Custom Bets: With the “Request a Bet” feature, you can create personalized bets not available in the standard markets, adding a layer of customization to your betting experience. I personally have not used this feature. I mean if you think you can outsmart a sportsbook and find a loophole with your own custom bet then chances are the sportsbook will not approve the request. This is another feature that is just a gimmick to make the sportsbook look like they are catering to the client.
Promotions and Bonuses
DraftKings is known for its generous promotions and bonuses. New users can typically take advantage of a substantial welcome bonus, often involving a deposit match or risk-free bet. The app also features ongoing promotions for existing users, such as daily odds boosts, free bet offers, and parlay insurance.
As I mentioned they are probably the best in terms of bonuses and promotions in terms of boosts and “no sweat” bets. A “no sweat” bet is one where the sportsbook will credit your lose of a bet with a bonus bet. I.e. They give you a “no sweat” bet for a MLB Parlay. You can risk up to $50 and if you lose the bet they will credit your account with $50.
There are a couple things that recreational bettor should think about here. First, do you need to bet the maximum amount when this is offered, no. Still stay within your bankroll. If you are only betting $5, then continue betting just $5. Second, do you really need to bet these when they are available. I would suggest that if you do bet them make sure they align with what your already planning on betting that day.
Finally, bonus bets are not the same as real money. When you bet a bonus bet lets say $5 at +100 you will only pocket what you win, you will not pocket the $5 you used to bet on the game. That is the difference. Real money bets would return $10.
The best feature that DraftKings has to offer by far is their loyalty program, known as “Crowns.” Users earn Crowns for every bet placed, which can be redeemed for free bets or other rewards, adding extra value for regular bettors.
You can also get added incentives as move up levels within their loyalty program. However, do not bet higher amounts just so you can reach certain tiers that is how you can lose your bankroll very quickly.

- This never had a chance with Lowe going 0-3. I will be honest I did not think that Luis Ortiz and this bullpen was going to only give up 5 hits. Despite that the Rangers won thanks to Corey Seager who drove in all four runs on his two HR’s.
Leicester vs Tottenham Over 3
- Why is Tottenham the most underachieving club in the history of the Premier League? After scoring in the 29th minute to take a 1-0 lead and then conceding early in the 2nd half to Vardy making it 1-1 surely we could find one more for at least the push.
- No, no we could not. Tottenham had 71% possession and 15 Goal Attempts and only found the back of the net once. A disappointing start to the season for them, but should we be surprised.
Villarreal vs Atletico Madrid Over 2.5/3
- This was an easy winner. 2-2 at halftime cashed this and I am glad it all happened in the 1st half because there was nothing going on in the 2nd half as the final ended 2-2.
- If your a Atletico Madrid fan you have to be disappointed with this result especially since it was an own goal that allowed the 2-2 draw.
Kansas City Royals -1.0
- A little sweaty in this one as the Royals had a 3-run lead headed into the 7th inning. Adell doubled to left scoring two to cut the lead 3-2 and make us a bit nervy.
- However, in the bottom half of the 7th Perez doubled to left scoring two more and I had another 3-run cushion.
- A solo HR in the 8th by Neto and the leadoff hitter in the 9th with a infield single had me on edge with a 5-3 game. In the end Schreiber was able to get a ground ball DP and then Moniak to line out to first to end the game for a winner and a profitable day!

What I Learned:
Get Rid of the Hook: When looking at the Royals matchup yesterday and exploring options on how to bet them I realized that I can bet -1.0 instead of -1.5 with MLB teams. This is a game changer. If you are a recreational bettor I would highly recommend doing this when looking at higher juiced moneylines in the MLB. If you think a team is going to win and they are at like -200 why not take -1.0 instead at -135. Yes, there could be a push but at least its not a loss with the hook.
